Bot Monitoring
Bot Monitoring watches the selected bot's Discord presence and turns state changes into uptime data and outage records.
Presence monitoring
Online, idle, and do-not-disturb are treated as connected states. Offline is the state used for outage detection.
Grace period
A bot can briefly disconnect without immediately producing an alert. The default grace period is 180 seconds.
Offline lifecycle
1. Offline detected
Monitor stores the time the target first becomes offline.
2. Grace period
Monitor waits before notifying. Current configuration supports 0 to 600 seconds, with 180 seconds as the default.
3. Offline alert
If the bot remains offline past the grace period, Monitor sends the offline notification once.
4. Recovery
When the bot returns, Monitor can send a recovery notification and records the completed downtime incident.
Monitoring versus heartbeat
Presence monitoring asks whether Discord reports the bot as connected. Heartbeat Telemetry checks whether the bot's own application code is still sending health signals.
